Strawberry legs

What I use to calm my strawberry legs
I have pretty intense strawberry legs, which is just a result of my Keratosis Piloris. Which is a condition I do not know how to pronounce in real life⦠I just know how to spell it. ANYWAY,,,, as I have grown up I have found a couple of solutions that have seriously calmed down my legs, and helped me ENJOY my skin again(:
Number 1: Witch Hazel. My friend recommended witch hazel to me. I had used it on my face a lot until I realized that my skin type was not super compatible with it, but that was also because I used it like 3 times a day without moisturizer so I was set up for failure anyway. SOOOO using it on my legs seemed kind of risky. BUT it has paid off pretty nice. After I shave, shower, and dry I pat some witch hazel into my skin and BOOM CURED!
Nah Just kidding, I pat it in, dance for a minute while it dries, then lotion it.
My lotions switch almost daily just because sometimes I need more moisture or I want to smell different but I mainly use Medix or NIVEA. I like skin tightening lotions because they seem to work in holding my pores togetherā¦if that is even possible or scientific lol. I am experimenting with a couple retinol ones right now.
The benefit of using witch hazel is it reduces redness, irritation, annnnndddd (drum roll please) tightens pores. I know pretty wonderful. So if after a year of doing this you donāt have the tightest pores on earth then I do not know what to tell you man. You can find all the products I mentioned here. Give them a try! Letās see how TIGHT those pores can get. This sounds like a Jazzercise class for your skin...
Number 2: Tend Skin. The first time I saw Tend Skin was in my parents bathroom (before the divorce insert flashbacks to war and eye twitch). I thought it was a āboysā thing. But turns out that isnāt true, and although it smells like a teenage boy, girls can use it too.
Essentially it is the same thing as Witch hazel, so I wonāt explain it much or even at all. But I will often bounce between witch hazel and Tend Skin. Because I can and I donāt have to live one way foreverā¦
...lol this section of this article sounds like my dad wrote it, no compassion, no beating around the bush.
Number 3: Dry brush. Man oh man, in the year of whatever this year is again I have said ādry brushā so many times!! And if I had a dime for every time I said it I could retire my parents and build a mansion the size of Connecticut on the moon.
Well maybe not all of that, but I would have quite a few dimes.
And honestly it is for good reason, I LOVE dry brushing. It is one of the most peaceful parts of my day. I switch between morning and night, and I am sometimes not consistent, but LET ME TELL YOU: brushing my skin helps remove those dead skin cell. Which helps my moisturizer lock in, aiding in my skins recovery. WHICH means my pores are not so wide, meaning my KP strawberry legs are not so bad.
When it comes to dry brushing I have yet to have any negative effects lol, but if I ever do you better believe I will be detailing it here. But the day dry brushing betrays me is the day I know the apocalypse is comingā¦so everyone should probably hope that article never comes.
If you want to learn how I dry brush then here is the love letter I wroteā¦I mean article I wrote about it here. It is really just a video I linked lol. And if you are looking for a dry brush here is the one I use. (:
Number 4: LOTION or OIL
I donāt care which one you use, but my golly use at least one of them every night! Right now I use this Sol De Janeiro one, my best friend uses straight up coconut oil. (which is actually such a funny story, her dog will lick her legs because of all the coconut oil on them, it is the funniest thing to watch, you guy should come over and watch it some time, it is pretty hilarious.)
Moisturizing your skin should be a daily routine. If you want to know what I use then here you go, but please in the very least find a moisturizer you like or maybe a thousand different ones, nonetheless use them faithfully.
ā¦
LOTION YOURSELF.
And love yourself too. lol.
ššššššš
Always yours,
Butter
P.S. Lotioning should be a verb. I was lotioning my skin. I lotion my legs. It should be considered a verb but it is notā¦but āYOLOā is a word???
