After Shower Robe Enrichment Time

I wear a robe after my showers because I am bad at putting lotion on my skin.

BODYGENERAL

I feel like a 50's movie princess in this robe: https://amzn.to/45cRTYM. Not because it is "super cute" it looks pretty normal, but it's the vibe! I truly recommend, plus I am way more consistent with it. Let me explain.

I have been wearing a robe because I hate lotioning. Which my auto-correct keeps trying to tell me is not a word, but I going to use it as a verb so everyone sit back and calm down.

I will admit that I do not lotion my body often. I am really super good at scrubbing and exfoliating, but that does not help as much as it should because I have not built back up my skin barrier. I give it no time to recuperate. (Which is a word I forgot about until now.)

ANYWAY. I think after years of trying I have FINALLY hacked how to help my skin. I bought a robe and slippers.

You see it wasn’t until I was on vacation that I realized something about my routine. I can lotion my body, but once I put my clothes on I feel uncomfortable. And maybe that is a sensory issue, which is leads to some more revelations that we don't need to get into right now lol. BUT I like to dry off just a little more before I start putting on lotion and oil and whatever I choose to use.

SO! My solution is so simple. I towel dry. Then slip on my robe, and my slippers if I remember to bring them into the bathroom. Then I make my way to my room where I take a little time out. I read a book. Sit by the window. Drink some water. And honestly, I could do all of this naked, but there is something so right about doing all this in a robe. Then after like 5 min I am ready to lotion up. Then after, I wait for another 5 ish min to let the lotion soak in.

It adds roughly 10 mins to my routine, but I am either going to bed or just chilling in my house. And if I am doing something outside of the house, then I wasn’t going to be on time anyway.

Not to get poetic, but I feel like we waste too much time worrying about how much time everything takes. The time will pass either way. If you can take a second every day to slow down your mind and connect with your body then that’s a win!

Look at me being a philosopher and it is just barely 8am...but I guess you didn’t know what time I wrote this. Or that I am sitting in my robe right now(;

Well, well, well. Here is the robe I decided on! It was a long rigorous process. Just kidding, I just wanted one that absorbed water similar to a towel, not too long, and that would wrap around my body. So yeah, here it is my robe once again lol. I am also considering some cute robes, but I will keep looking for one that fits with my mood.

BUT y'all lotion your body, take time for your mind, do the little things that make life feel like you are living.

Sincerely,

Butter
